here's another poem i figured i'd post for all u guys who are still teens in here. which is probably most of u lol. ummm, my friend liked this poem so much she actually took it to school with her, she was 15 at the time, she's 19 now. 16 No one ever gets you You follow their rules School becomes lame Everyone wants to be cool You drive your dad’s car You want the latest CD Life moves pretty slow The net keeps you on your PC They say 16 is sweet But you’d never know it Angst issues run rampant Life’s a bitch and you know it They want you to grow up But is adulthood so mature? They live and they learn Then there’s the mid-life factor Graduation is still an achievable goal The green pastures of brighter days looms overhead But at this age of indecision Teenagers are often misread

well i just tried to post one of my stories but it didn't let me, it said there were too many words, i guess i can break it up into segments. lol anyways i wrote this is summer of 2001, so it has some popculture references that may seem dated now, i think i even have a Buffy one in there somewhere. ok i'll try and post it in segments, since it wont let me do it all at once.
BOYS OF SUMMER It’s near the end of August, which means the summer is almost at an end. The free fun that the teen residents of Hudson Beach were having were hoping summer would never end. This was the first summer Chase and his sister Chastity had spent in Hudson. She was just glad that her freshman year was finally over. Her one complaint was that she was fifteen years old, and didn’t have any guys ask her out yet. Sometimes she felt as if she would never find a boyfriend. True she had all the time in the world, but at fifteen she was really starting to notice guys a lot more now.
“I feel totally miserable, Pat.” “So what else is new?” Patricia was her new best friend since moving to Hudson Beach in the middle of the school year. They were both lying out at the beach on the warm sand. “I just feel like I’m missing out or something, you know.” “Well, Chastity, we all feel that way sometimes, I mean we wouldn’t be normal if we didn’t. Fifteen’s not an easy age to be for a girl. It never is. We just sorta deal.” “Yeah, I know. But that’s like all I’ve been doing. So far this summer I haven’t accomplished anything. I still have no life, no friends, except for you, and no boyfriend.” “Chastity, it’s not like it’s the end of the world or anything. I mean, the sun will rise tomorrow, Buffy will live again.” They both break out in laughter. “We’re teenagers, it’s supposed to be hard. It’s what comes after that counts.” “Hey, Pat look at that guy over there.” She points to the direction of the young man she is now noticing. “Wow, I wish I had a guy built like that. And he’s gotta be at least seventeen.” “Chastity, hon, he’s also out of both our leagues.” “Yeah, but maybe he goes to Hudson.” “Yeah, maybe.” They both shoot each other a knowing look.
Chase was busy writing out admissions for college. He had a few top schools on his list so far, but he really had no idea of what his major was going to be. He would soon be starting his senior year of high school, and the last thing he wanted to think about was more school post high school. He was however glad that he had met a new girl over summer vacation. Her name was Jordana, who had spent most of her whole life in Hudson Beach. So far the summer with her was going great. She just happened to be one year younger so she would be starting her junior year at Hudson High. They were having lunch at the Spot, which was a trendy local diner. “So, you want to go tonight maybe, Chase?” “Yeah, OK, why not? Ummm, so we’re gonna go see Jay and Silent Bob right?” “Yeah, well I hear its wicked funny, so hell yeah. You know, Chase, the summer with you has been the best I’ve ever had.” She leans over and he follows her lead and they kiss each other lightly on the lips. He then looks into her beautiful brown eyes. “I think I’m really falling for you, Chase. Like in a big way.” She looks at him nervously and bites her lower lip. She’s hoping he feels the same for her but she doesn’t want to put him on the spot. But she had to let her feelings out and just lay it out in the open. “Well, I like you a lot too, Jordana. And my summer has been pretty much on the positive side too lately. Which in like 99.9 percent is due to you.” She beams him a glowing smile.
Later in the day Chase drives along P.C.H in his new car. Well not very new but new to him. It was actually a 1988 Porsche convertible. He loved the feel of the wind in his hair as he cruised the streets of Southern California. He needed to really break in the car and so taking a nice long trek across town was the best way to do that. The sun was setting and the night would soon be coming. He knew the days were going to be getting shorter in about a month from now. This also signaled a return to Hudson High, only this time he would be a senior and hoped he wouldn’t have to work as hard as the previous years of his high school existence. Things often never went quite as planned so only time would tell. He used his left hand to move his light brown hair out of his eyes. Sometimes that happened if the wind was fierce enough. As he listened along to KROQ one his favorite new songs came on the radio. It was Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm. He sang along as he drove.

Later that night he was talking to Jordana on the phone. Then Chastity knocks on his door. “Come in!” He turns the phone upside down. “Sorry, Chase, but I just needed to talk to you.” “Can it wait?” “Well, maybe, but its sorta important.” She looks at him with her soft gray eyes, the eyes he could never say no to. “Hey, babe, I’ll call ya back….K, love you too.” He clicks off. “So, spill.” She then sits on his bed and he moves over. “I saw something today at the beach, only I don’t know exactly what it was.” “How do you mean?” “Well, you know how I have a fear of water right?” He nods. “Well, Pat was kinda teasing me about it a little. No big deal, right? Only when I finally got the nerve to go in the water, I-I saw something out there.” “Like what?” His voice now showing concern.” “Like, someone, or something.” “Well people do swim out there you know. I mean its OK. You don’t have to swim. I’m sure she didn’t mean any harm by it.” “No, that’s not it. They weren’t like people like us. They looked different, strange.” “Well, what were they doing?” “They were struggling, or drowning or something. It was scary. But the thing is when I went for help they weren’t there anymore. And Pat said she didn’t see anything. But I know I could hear one of them screaming so loud. Like one of them was louder than the others.” “So what did happen then? I don’t follow you. Did you see people drowning?” “I thought I did. I tried to tell Mom, but she didn’t really understand any of it. And you know how Dad is.” “Only too well. Look it was probably the sun or something. Sometimes that glare is so strong that it’s hard to see anything clearly out there.” “Yeah, maybe. But the thing is, its not the first time it’s happened.”
The next morning, while taking a morning run Chase runs into Allie. She had a small crush on him, but at just fourteen years old he found her a bit too young. So as usual he was less than pleased to see her. Though he had to admire her short brown hair and the way she styled it. Her big brown eyes gaped at him. She was so short he often wondered if she had to shop for clothes in the children’s section, though of course he would never ask her that. “Hey, Chase! Hey, stud!” “Hey, Allie.” He slows to a walk. “So, can you believe it? I finally go to school with you next month. How cool huh?” “Yeah, very cool.” He says this with globs of sarcasm. Though he hopes she won’t notice. “So what’s it like there? At Hudson High. I mean how are the guys? The older guys.” “Well, ummm actually, Allie most of them have girlfriends, but there are some available freshman guys, you might wanna look into.” “Freshman, smeshman. I know you’re with someone. Jordana Connely.” “Yep, look, I still have half a mile to go.” “Oh, am I keeping you or something?” She takes on an angry tone with those last words and her beautiful smile fades. “No, don’t be ridiculous. No, its just it’s so early. And, and I just uhh didn’t want to have you try to keep up with me.” “Oh I can keep up with you anywhere, dear. Can she?” “K, well, maybe I’ll see ya, later?” He then hurriedly runs off. She then looks at him longingly as she notices his form. He jogs down the newly sunlit street. “God, is he is sexy. I wish I were older.”
Meanwhile at the beach…
“So what did he say?” “Well not a whole lot. He basically figured it was a trick of the sunlight or something.” “See, Chastity, I told you that didn’t I?” “Look, whatever, I know what I saw. Anyways, lets change the subject.” “No argument here. Oh did you bring it?” “Yep.” She smiles at her raven-haired friend. “K, what are you waiting for?” Then Chastity reaches into her beach bag and slowly pulls out a male modeling magazine. “Oooh, nice.” “Yeah, I still can’t believe my mom looks at these.” “Well you know why, don’t you?” “Cuz dad isn’t as attractive anymore?” “Don’t you ever, you

know?” “Don’t I ever what?” Patricia laughs lightly. “Chastity, now I see how you got your name. K look here.” She flips through the pages and lands on a tall well built man. They both notice that he only has on a thong. “K, now look at this one here. I mean this guy is like perfect. Agree?” “Yeah I guess. I mean yeah he’s hot.” “Hot? Is that it? Don’t pictures like these give you ideas? Not the kind of ideas you talk about a lot?” “I mean, yeah I am fifteen for Gods sake. I’ve been into boys for quite a while.” “Men, these are men not boys. Big difference.” “Yeah, but I still don’t see what you’re getting at. I mean I like guys and all but its not like I-----“ She stops herself in midsentence as she finally realizes what her best friend was referring to. She had never actually tried anything like THAT quite yet and wasn’t sure if she wanted to, though she knew it was safer with herself than if she were with some guy. “Yes, dear, ooooooooooh. Don’t worry, I just started myself. And this guy is gonna be in my mind for the rest of the week.” She then laughs. Then amid the sound of laughter a familiar scream cries out.
As she slowly turns around, she notices what she feared would happen again. The same boys are out there screaming for someone to help. Yet everyone on the beach are oblivious to this. Surely they can hear them if not see them. It’s an impossible sight to miss. One of the boys looks only to be around seven years old and he’s the one screaming the loudest. They don’t have much time before they drown. This time she shouts out for everyone to look. A few people do look her way but notice nothing in the water but usual activity. “Can’t anyone see those boys? God, they’re drowning out there!” She wished now more than ever that she could swim. But going out there would only cause her drowning on top of those sad kids. But this time its changed. They’re not only drowning. No, no its as though something is pulling them under. There’s even the faint color of red piercing the blue. But this is only her imagination. This can’t be real. This can’t really be happening.
Jordana sat in her room reading. She had just started the latest Anne Rice novel and was reading it heavily. She moved her head to get her dark brown hair out of her face as it was cutting into the view of the pages. She loved her hair though and often took pride in it. Then her mom calls her to come downstairs. “Hey, Mom, what’s up?” But before Mrs. Connely can answer her daughter sees the reason for the call. “Look, who showed up, Jordana.” “Yeah, wow. Hey, Phil.” “Hey.” Phil and her had a history. He had started his freshman year at USC and had come back to town to see Jordana. “Well, I’ll let you two talk.” She then goes into the kitchen. “Sit, down.” “Thanks.” They both sit on the living room couch. Jordana makes a point so as not to sit too close to him. “So, how’s SC?” “SC is SC. It’s a new world. You can join me in two years.” “Phil, things have changed.” “Not for me they haven’t.” “Well, they have for me. I’m not the person I was when you knew me.” “Does your mom know?” “No, she doesn’t and she doesn’t have to.” “How do you do it? How do you keep something like that a secret?” “Look, what are you doing here? When I needed you weren’t around. You left town, Phil. So don’t even go there with me, OK?” “Well I didn’t have much of a choice did I? Things got to out of control. I was in the hospital.” “Yes, Phil, I remember, but you were OK. But I wasn’t. That’s just it, Phil, I was never OK. And I am still not OK.

Got it?” “Look, I didn’t come here to argue. I figured maybe things could start over.” “Oh, so what all of a sudden you can handle me now? Is that it? Are you sure you want to handle me? Remember last time?” “Of course I remember. But you weren’t yourself then. I can handle you. We used to have a good thing going, you know.” “Yeah, like a million years ago. There’s someone new now. He’s a great guy.” Phil then exhibits a look of anger. He moves further away on the couch. “Are you OK with that?” “You know I’m not OK with that. So dump him.” This time she is the one angered. She stands up and beams at him. “What the hell did you just say to me? Who do you think you are?” Then her mom comes in with a look of concern. “I heard shouting, is everything OK?” “Yeah, Mom, Phil was just leaving.” She shoots him a look. He gets the point and slowly walks out and says his good-byes to the two women. “I’ll see you later, Jordana. You can count on it.” She then closes the door.
Waking up in the hospital, Chastity looks around her new surroundings. “Where am I?” Her parents go over to her. “Thank, God, your OK. We were so worried. Maybe you’ve spending too much time in the sun.” “What, Mom? What happened?” “Well you were shouting about some kids drowning, and then you fainted.” “I did?” Then her dad says his words to her. First he kisses her forehead. “Hey, darling. Do you remember any of what happened?” “Well, I saw some kids drowning. Or at least I thought.” “Well actually there was a teenage boy out there. Just the one. He was just about to go surfing when he heard you scream. But the thing is that actually saved his life. He rushed over to your safety along with a few other people there after you fainted.” “What do you mean I saved his life?” “Well had he been surfing he would have been killed. There was some kind of massive wave out there and very bad storm actually. It happened right after he came to you. But if I he were out there in the water the water would have crushed him. I don’t know all the technical terms for it but it was some kind of massive tidal wave. Something that this beach hasn’t seen in years.” “But what about those boys I saw? The one who were drowning or being pulled down? I couldn’t have imagined that. They looked like they were brothers.” “Well, there were three brothers killed out there once. If I remember correctly they were visiting from Maine. And they went out there in the water and somehow there was a shark loose and it got the three of them. At first no one noticed because there was some kind of wild beach party. But there was one that screamed so loud that everyone noticed. They were so far out. I think it was the youngest that screamed and brought us near. He was seven years old I think. Isn’t that right, dear?” “I think so. And the other two were thirteen and fifteen. It was the only time a shark attack ever happened in Hudson Beach. Your dad and I were teenagers at the time. We didn’t know each other yet.” “Are you telling me that those kids I saw were ghosts?” “Well, honey, we don’t know what you saw. But there was that terrible shark accident all those years ago. It was like something out of Jaws. The poor kids, they never had a chance. And I’ll never forget that little one’s scream. That was one summer I’ll never forget.” All Chastity could do was think how odd all this was. If she hadn’t seen what she saw or thought she saw that surfer would have been killed. He ran to her which consequently saved his life, but then how could see something that happened years ago?
After all is settled and Chastity is back at home safe Chase goes to visit Jordana. “I can’t stay here.” “What’s wrong?” “Nothing, but I can’t see you tonight. I just need to go on a walk. Alone.” “Oh, well OK sure. Tomorrow then?” “Tomorrow.” Jordan walks along the dark streets of Hudson Beach among the quiet well to do neighborhoods. Finally she reaches her destination. She knocks. “Hey, it’s me. It’s time again.” “Step right in. That’s what I’m here for.” “You’re a lifesaver, Brewster.” “Whose life? Mine or yours?” He laughs. She doesn’t. They both walk down into his basement. “Well, Jordana, you know the drill.” “Only to well. I’ll be glad when my cycle’s over.” She picks up some chains on the floor and then lays them back down. “Where’s the key?” He hands it to her. “Well, see you tomorrow.” “Ditto.” He walks back up the steps and locks the basement door behind him. She starts undressing in the basement. She strips down to nothing. Then she puts on the chains, which are bolted to the concrete wall. She then locks them in place. “Here we go again.” Back upstairs Brewster listens to music to drown out the sound from below. He was used to this by now but it was still nerve racking. He always feared to go down there at night. He can already hear the first sounds of growling. So he turns up his music even louder. It seemed like a good time to play some Elvis. Costello that is.
THE END

ok that was intersting lol, geez, well they're 10 page long stories, hence me having to post them in segments like that. anyways glad u liked the poem, Skittles, yeah i wasn't driving at 16 either, neither was my friend that i mentioned, she started driving at 18, last yr i think. when i was 16 i was waaaaay too scared to get behind the wheel lol. and even with my fiancee, well ex now, she's 18 and barely got her license but she barely drives, like she's afraid of the freeway and stuff, but i hated it cuz i always had to be the one to go get her and stuff, which was fine, but it would have bee cool if she had been able to hop on the freeway sometime, but i remember how scary that stuff is for new drivers.
